i have now been in san francisco for two weeks. here are some things about SF that i've learned:
- the wild parrots of telegraph hill. the story is, there was a musician back in the 80's or 90's that had some parrots. one day, he let the parrots go and they multiplied. now you can hear and see them all over san francisco

- everyone is all into the whole "green" thing. recycling, reusing. compost was a whole new thing for me, but it's kind of a big deal
- along with the "green" thing, everyone eats organic.
- i cannot even tell you how many fiats there are in this city, along with mini coopers and prius'. the 3 of them combined, are taking over sf.
- hipsters. need i say more?
- last week, the horns in the bay almost drove me into the nut house. i think cause it was so foggy. and i guess this beautiful weather is a rarity so i should get used to the horns
- almost every single person i have talked to has told me the size of the city. 7x7 miles ya'll
- the number of kids families have. toto, i have a feeling we're not in utah anymore. my nanny mama tells me no one she knows has more than 4 kids. the fact that she has 3, is a lot of kids for out here
- nancy pelosi lives in my neighborhood
- when people tell you that san francisco is all hills... they ARE NOT exaggerating
- there are crazy bums on every corner. seriously. and it's the best when they sit next to you on the bus and are talking and laughing to themselves and you can tell they definitely have not showered anytime in the past 3 or 4 or 11 weeks
- there is, in fact, another bridge here in good ol' sf. the oakland bridge is on the opposite side of the city as the golden gate. now, what i'm wondering is why the golden gate is so much more known than the oakland.
