i think the biggest thing i've learned this school year is that i am definitely an introvert. i'd much rather sit in my room and read than play games with our neighboring apartments. it isn't that i don't like them, i would just rather be by myself. i also prefer not to bump into people i know on campus, unless its one of my roommates or something. but even then, i'd rather not try and keep up conversation. i'd rather keep my earbuds in and think to myself.
although occasionally, i like to get out and do stuff.

fire
there we are (me and megan) innocently sitting in our institute class when suddenly, the most obnoxious noise starts sounding. at first i thought it was a phone, but then a voice comes "attention! there has been a reported emergency. please exit the building" or something along those lines... so we leave. we come to find out, a cardboard box had caught fire in the kitchen. (i know, the freakin pictures are freakin sideways but i could freakin figure out how to get them turned the freakin right way)
standing out in the freezing cold snow
have you ever actually seen one of these used? i haven't, until now
see? the firetruck.
yup.

the gospel is true
i've been feeling not as.... spiritual as i should be. not that i'm doing anything wrong, i just feel like i could try a little harder to make the gospel a higher priority in my life. i pray everyday, but i can pray harder. i read my scriptures everyday, but i could study better. i go to church every week, but i could apply it more.
this gospel, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true.
its as simple as that.
and i'm so blessed to be a part of it.

martin luther king jr day eve
my roomies introduced us to the celebration of martin luther king jr day eve. every year,
they make cupcakes for it.
so.. yes. on other business. it's been a pretty good day. although i've really missed my mom these past few days for some reason. for those of you who have not yet lived away from home. take advantage of your mother because when you leave for school. you can't just walk across the hall to see her.
love you mama!!

one person
isn't it interesting how there is that one person that can make or break your day? regardless of how the rest of your day has been, it can be made or broken with one action or one word... or the absence of either.

resolutions
so i was talking to my bff megan and we both realized usually, we'll sit down and really think about some new years resolutions and that it was not true for either of us this year. so, i've been sitting in bed and some just came to mind:
1- lose the weight i've gained this school year (so cliche, i know)
2- try harder in school
3- try to be more optomistic
it's only 3 small things. but if you overwhelm yourself with too many things, nothing will happen.

g-ma
so last year, my grandma, better know as gramma or even better known as "g-ma" made little stuffed monsters for all the great grandkids. after seeing them, all the older grandkids wanted some. so she made us all giant stuffed monsters for christmas.

these are my mine and my siblings monsters
heres my monster. every monster is different. she personalized every last one of them.
not that i haven't acknowlegded the amazingness of this woman before, but sometimes you just need reminders on things like that. i am so close to all my aunts and uncles and cousins and even their kids. and i give credit to my grandma Carolee Oaks. she loves each and every family member (even though we all tease her). she has an incredible testimony and she can always turn something horrible into something wonderful. we joke that she can relate anything, anything to either obama or the church. i think obama we could go without, but how cool is it that she can take a basset hound dog and somehow relate it to the gospel. no joke. me and my sister were in the back seat of her car giggling when it happened.
I LOVE YOU G-MA!
