i just finished reading this book and i highly recommend it. it's all about how to be a classy, graceful woman and every girl should read it. especially in this day and age.
in case you forget about it or don't want to read the whole thing, i'm going to share a few of my favorite highlights from the book:
"watch your thoughts, for they become words. watch your words, for they become actions. watch your actions, for they become habits. watch your habits, for they become character. watch your character, for it becomes your destiny." -unknown source
"relationships in general are a really big deal. think about it. life is entirely made up of the conversations, friendships, memories, meetings, fights, secrets, jokes and experiences we gather from those around us. we come home from work and talk about our interactions with others. we make plans to deliberately leave the house and see specific people of interest to us. wen our moms call to check in, they give the status report on our old friends and family members. what would we do without relationships? who would we share our big news with? where would we go for a good cry? a friendless life would be a sad existence." -jordan christy
"anyone can speak, but it takes intelligence, self-control, and maturity to set out own interest a side and focus our attention on the needs and concerns of someone else fora change." -jordan christy
"i love people who make me laugh. i honestly think it's the thing i like the most, to laugh." -audrey hepburn
"people seldom notice old clothes if you wear a big smile" -lee mildon
"this is the most important rule. it is so much harder to be critical of what someone is wearing when she is lovely, connected, and interesting." -jenna lyons (sr. v.p. of women's desings at j. crew)
"when i buy cookies i eat just four and throw the rest away. but first i spray them with Raid so i won't dig them out of the garbage later. be careful, though, because that raid doesn't really taste that bad." -janette barber
"so, the chic, intelligent way might not be the easy way, but since when was anything worth doing easy?" -jordan christy
