sunday

i am really beginning to be truly appreciative of missionary work. growing up in the church, it was never something i'd ever, truly acknowledged. but, over the past few months, there are a couple things that have changed that;

1) Bryan and the experience he is having. I know he is touching and changing lives out in south carolina. i can see it. in the stories he tells me and the pictures he sends me. he is giving people their chance to live in this beautiful gospel and to be with their families for eternity.

2) the converts in my ward. there aren't as many converts in utah. and if there are, they are from utah so a lot of them (at least any that i knew) didn't have these crazy stories from their childhood. today in sacrament meeting a recent convert gave a talk that touched my heart. i won't go into detail in respect for him but it was amazing to hear what he went through as a child and how the gospel saved him and shed light on his troubles. i haven't felt the spirit so strong in a while and it was one of those moments when you knew  you weren't the only one feeling it. you could feel it resonating throughout the entire congregation. it was so amazing.

3) my beautiful cousin Shaley just came home from her mission in San Diego last week. i have always looked up to her and she's always been like a big sister to me. while i haven't been able to see her yet, i got to talk to her on the phone today and for the short time we talked, hearing her talk about her mission was just so neat. i can't wait to be able to see her and talk more. the fact that she extended her mission says a lot about the experience she had. i'm so blessed to have such wonderful role models in my life.
