did it hurt when you fell from heaven?

it didn't hurt last night but I sure am feelin it today. it wasn't from heaven but by the height of my shoes it might as well have been.

I've never been the most graceful human. but after Alexis showed up at my house lookin hot in heels, I took a gander down at my leggings, sweater and boots and decided to change. I decided to pull out my tallest pair of shoes. I joked about falling on my face but that wasn't to tempt fate, it was a joke!

I was rocking those shoes down the streets of downtown sf. all my friends complimented me. I was feelin good. apparently too good cause life decided to humble me.

there I am, innocently walking next to melissa. suddenly, something happens. I have no idea what it was but I'm goin down.

it's all in slow motion. my knees hit the ground. I try to catch myself but no, i keep going, my chest hits the ground. I hear people around me screaming trying to help me. but does it stop there? oh no, not humbled enough yet. I roll forward, my legs up in the air behind me.

strangers are scrambling to help me up with the most concerned looks on their faces. I look up at my friends, some wide eyed, some laughing.

I jump up, pull my pants up (they'd fallen down just below my butt) and just burst into laughter.

I'm the most embarrassing human alive and it's probably the funniest thing ever. shoes come off and I walk around in my holy socks. still laughing.

still laughing to this second.

moral of the story: I'm never wearing high heels in public again. only to church where there is minimum walking necessary.

overall, a fun night on the town. and then a sleepover after of course.
