Life Is Wonderful

Is there ever a time in life where it is not crazy busy? Because I feel like all of my blog posts begin with "life has been crazy", because it always is! But it is also wonderful and happy and full of love. I've had my sister come home from her mission, my brother leave for his mission, I'm finishing up school in the next month, a cabin trip, the best concert that has ever happened and will every happen and an unforgettable trip to New Mexico.

going through the temple with two of my siblings and both my parents was such a great experience

dropping baby brother off at the mic

this one of Bryan and our nephews just melts my heart "heart eye emoji"

we got to take some of my cousins up to the cabin for an incredibly fun weekend

Mumford and Sons, aka the best concert that will ever happen

trip to New Mexico for a wedding and balloon fiesta

something awesome about this picture is that it includes, aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings, cousins kids, married in cousins and we are all so close, some of us grew up in Utah, some New Mexico and we have still grown up closer than most families and we've been able to keep that relationship up over the years and I wouldn't have it any other way :)

for daddy

I've always had such a wonderful relationship with my dad. I have so many memories with him! When I was little and my mom worked Saturdays, me and dad hung out and watched Saturday Morning Cartoons, I specifically remember Doug. We would always make these ice slushy things and eat them out of this plastic blue mug on the front porch. I used to tell him to wake me up  super early when he got up for work so I could have breakfast with him, then I'd go cuddle back in bed with my mom :)
He also raised me right in that I enjoy Star Wars. And also that a good majority of music on my phone is The Beatles, not because I want to be cool or hipster but because it's what I grew up listening to.
We used to go on daddy daughter dates, including dances set up by our church. I always had fun with him at those.
He would ALWAYS make time to come to my church volleyball and basketball games and to my high school track meets even though I know they were excruciatingly painful because I'm so unathletic. But it meant the world to me. And you know what meant even more? When he came to my choir and musical performances because I know that for him, those are way worse than watching me being bad at sports. But he never missed a single one.
Whenever I'm sad or having a hard time, he sends me uplifting scriptures or talks to lift my spirits and it always works.
One of my favorite things to do with him is hike. Sometimes me and him will just go hike the Adams Canyon switchbacks and we just talk. I'm so glad I have that kind of relationship with my dad where we can just talk and laugh and have a good time.

My dad is so hard working and so supportive that I just have to wonder how he does it. He never says he's not going to do something because he is too tired or doesn't want to. He is so willing to serve anyone at anytime. I've also watched him treat my mother right my whole life and that is an amazing thing for a daughter to be able to see

I love you daddy thank you for everything you do!!

6 months later...

What? Where did the last 6 months go? Bryan and I have been married for SIX. MONTHS. Time really does fly when you're having fun. Which is all the time. I am seriously just so happy with my life right now, and I have Bryan to thank for that let me tell you 6 things I just love about him, cause I'm cheesy like that:

1- He is the HARDEST worker. I will never, ever have to worry about being taken care of because I know it's a priority of his.
2- You should see him with kids, it's adorable and it melts my heart. And then sometimes when he starts sentences with "When we have kids..." or "Let's do this with our kids.." it melts my heart even more. Even though it's usually followed with something totally ridiculous.
3- He may kill me for this one, but every night after he comes home from work, he pulls me over to his side of the bed to cuddle me.
4- He's a total dork and I love it.
5- He's so funny and not a day goes by that he doesn't make me laugh.
6- He will spend hours with my crazy family or drive for 24/48 hours because I asked him to because I'm selfish and I want to be with him and everyone else all at the same time.

I love you Bryan Scott Welty and I'm so happy that I am yours for eternity!!

(bonus #7 thing I love about him, even though he never smiles in pictures, he has the greatest most amazing smile around)

Sister's Weekend+

As I'm sure you've seen all over my Facebook and Instagram, I went on a little weekend trip to Moab with all the women on my mom's side of the family.

A little background, in February 2002, my grandparents were doing some traveling in their motorhome. My Grandpa got sick and they went to the hospital only to discover that he had cancer. Within a half an hour of finding out, my mother and her 4 sisters were on their way to the hospital. They spent a lot of time together just as sisters. My Grandpa died of cancer on February 9, 2002 in Needles, Cal.

A few years later, my mom and her 4 sister and mom decided to go on a "Sister Trip" every year around the same to get that same sister time with my grandma.

This year, all the daughters of the 5 sisters were invited. All but 4 of us were there! We travelled from Northern Utah, New Mexico and Arizona to all be together and it was such a great and uplifting weekend.

yes, we're those people. the ones who get awesome matching shirts

of course we made a paper livi

thank you to my aunts, cousins, grandma and mother for such a fun and memorable weekend!
